The following Olsson Associates employees have recently passed the professional engineering (PE) exam and have been promoted to associate engineer. The requirements to become a PE include completing four years of professional experience under a licensed professional engineer and passing the PE exam.
Travis Schafer, PE, a member of Kansas City’s Structural team, started with the firm in August 2012. He has a B.S. and M.S. in architectural engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Travis works on designing bridges, culverts, and supporting structures for Union Pacific and BNSF railroads.
Brandon Biba, PE, a member of Lincoln’s Land Development team, joined the firm in April 2014, after spending five years in the Air Force. He has a B.S. in civil engineering from the Air Force Academy and a master’s in environmental policy and management from the American Military University. Brandon’s work includes developing commercial pad sites.
Luke Weatherly, PE, a member of Omaha’s Land Development team, has been with the firm since March 2007. He has a B.S. in civil engineering with a minor in mathematics. Luke has been involved in redevelopment projects in Mid-town Omaha with the University of Nebraska Medical Center, as well as single-family residential subdivisions in West Omaha.
Eric Shelton, PE, a member of Springfield’s Water Resources team, has been with the firm since June 2011. Eric has a B.S. and an M.S. in civil engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. Eric specializes in flood control and flood reduction projects, as well as hydrologic and hydraulic design for stream restoration projects and new developments.
Tim Robins, PE, a member of Springfield’s special inspections team, has been with the firm since March 2011. He has a B.S. in civil engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology. He specializes in construction materials testing, special inspections, and construction administration for public and private infrastructure projects.
