Olsson Associates has been providing services to the Tecumseh Airport Authority for more than 30 years, starting with the initial airport construction in 1971. Olsson has successfully completed multiple projects at the airport, which included planning, design, and construction services.

Between 2004 and 2009, Olsson has worked on projects such as: airport layout plan, land acquisition, airport pavement rehabilitation, a new partial parallel taxiway, medium-intensity runway lights (MIRL) 15/33, a storage hangar, and a pilot's lounge.

By 2006, the airport's asphalt pavement had reached the end of its useful life. Olsson investigated four pavement rehabilitation options and chose white-topping (concrete overlay) as the most economical method for this airport, which was also the easiest to construct. The final design included white-topping the majority of the pavement. In some areas near the hangar buildings, pavement was removed and replaced with concrete to match into the existing grades. New runway and taxiway lights were also included in the project. In January 2007, bids were opened and were 30 percent below the estimated costs. Olsson has provided both construction observation and testing services for this project. The total project cost was approximately $2 million.

As a result of this project, the airport has a more usable surface for its runways and taxiways, and they have a new partial parallel taxiway, which will allow the airport to run more efficiently. This project was recognized as the best airport construction project for 2007 by the Nebraska Concrete Paving Association.
