RED Development was looking for design and construction solutions for its newest land development project in Kansas City, Kansas. The project came out of the Unified Government's desire to develop a new activity center, which it intended to become a major retail and entertainment district.
The center features the new Kansas Speedway, Cabela's, Nebraska Furniture Mart, and a new retail complex. Legends incorporates a variety of water features and fountains, fireplaces and pits, performance stages, heavily landscaped plazas, pedestrian walkways, and corridors. The illuminating lighting design includes a variety of fixtures and signage, which provides both a dynamic and festive atmosphere.
In addition to completing all entitlement processes, utilities, site grading, and pavement design, Olsson Associates assisted in the design of the open plazas and activity spaces associated with the development. Olsson's diverse discipline scope provided land survey, utility design, and mechanical and electrical design services for various tenants within the Legends development.
