James Landrum Joins Olsson's Olathe Office

Olsson Associates announces the addition of James Landrum as a senior geotechnical engineer for its Olathe office.

Landrum has 15 years of professional geotechnical engineering experience, having worked on a variety of projects, including schools, industrial and commercial buildings, dams, roadways, bridges and retaining structures. In his new role at Olsson Associates, Landrum will manage complex geotechnical projects and develop and manage local and national clients. He also will serve as a mentor for young geotechnical professionals. Landrum can be reached at 913-748-2637.

Jenkins

Jeff Jenkins Joins Olsson Associates as CFO

Jeff Jenkins joined the firm February 1 as its new chief financial officer. He comes to Olsson from his most recent position as CFO and vice president of Neenah Enterprises.

As Olsson's CFO, Jenkins will develop and implement firm-wide financial strategies and programs and oversee the finance/accounting team.

Jenkins, a Fremont native, graduated from the University of Nebraska and is a certified public accountant. His past work experience also includes 19 years as president and CFO of Deeter Foundry in Lincoln. He is active in the community, including service to the Family Service Association Board, the WorkWell, Inc. Board, the Lincoln-Lancaster County Air Pollution Control Advisory Board, the Lincoln Electric System Advisory Council, and the Lincoln Ice Hockey Association.

Korell

Brad Korell, who started as finance director at Olsson in 2004 after a long, successful bank management career, now will focus on high-level business development for the firm, continuing to serve as corporate secretary of the OEI, Inc. Board of Directors, and working with OEI's commercial real estate investments.

Before joining Olsson, Korell served as president of Wells Fargo Bank and National Bank of Commerce in Lincoln. He served as co-chair of the Mayor's Infrastructure Finance Committee from 2003 -- 2004, and has served on the boards of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Lincoln Association, St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, Nebraska Wesleyan University, and the Cooper Foundation.

Reinsch

Craig Reinsch Selected for National ACEC Award

Craig Reinsch, PE, a civil engineer with Olsson Associates, was selected as one of five national recipients for the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC)'s 2010 Young Professional of the Year award.

Reinsch was the Nebraska ACEC Young Professional winner in 2009, and he advanced for national consideration. He will receive his award at the national ACEC conference this fall in Puerto Rico.

Reinsch has been a member of the firm's Lincoln Water/Wastewater team for nearly nine years and has a B.S. in civil engineering and an M.S. in environmental engineering. His project experience includes the Johnson Lake Collection System, the Beal Slough Relief Trunk Sewer (currently in design) and other various water and wastewater projects.

This past fall, he worked as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for an introductory environmental engineering class. Reinsch also has devoted time to Water For People, Boy Scouts of America and missionary work in the Caribbean, and he is an active member of his church.

Stevens

Kim Stevens Joins Olsson Associates

Olsson Associates announces the addition of Kim Stevens as a business development leader for its Phoenix Airports team.

Stevens has been involved in aviation for 30 years, having earned his pilot's license in 1979, followed by his commercial license with an instrument rating in 1981. He was appointed director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics by the Governor of Nebraska in 1992 and served in that capacity for six years. His career in state government continued when he was hired in 2001 by the Arizona Department of Transportation, Aeronautics Division. Stevens served at ADOT for nine years, most recently as deputy division director.

His diverse career also includes nine years as a trooper in the Nebraska State Patrol. Seven of those years were spent in the executive protection division as a body guard for Governors Kerry, Orr and Nelson. Stevens also has worked in the insurance and securities industry and was licensed in both.

Stevens has served on numerous boards and committees, including serving as secretary of the National Association of State Aviation Officials and on the aviation standing committee for the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO).

Stevens attended the University of Nebraska on both the Lincoln and Omaha campuses.

Olsson Employees Pass Professional Traffic Operations Engineer Exam

Olsson Associates is pleased to announce that Justin Petersen, PE, and Yang Yang, PE, have passed the Professional Traffic Operations Engineer exam. This accreditation distinguishes individuals who demonstrate a requisite knowledge, skill and ability in the specialized application of traffic operations engineering.

Yang

Yang, a Senior Travel Demand Modeler for the Kansas City Transportation Planning team, joined Olsson in 2006 and has 12 years of experience. She received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Hefei University of Technology and got her M.S. in Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering from the University of Kansas.

Petersen

Petersen, an associate traffic engineer on the Lincoln Traffic team, joined Olsson in 2002. He graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Olsson Announces New Leadership in Holdrege Office

Olsson Associates is pleased to announce new leadership for its Holdrege office.

Doug Stevenson will lead Olsson's Holdrege office operations and Jess Hurlbert will take on a new role and manage the office's design group. The office's former leader, Mike Milius, has accepted another position within the firm and will lead municipal and water/wastewater efforts for Olsson's Kansas City office.

"While it was a difficult decision for me to leave the Holdrege office, I'm leaving our clients and our projects in very capable hands," Milius said.

Stevenson will serve as group leader for the office and handle daily operations. Hurlbert will continue to supervise the municipal group and take on additional responsibilities.

"Doug and Jess both have reputations for providing quality work and building strong relationships with our clients--their leadership will be an asset for our clients, project partners, and employees," Milius said.

Stevenson joined Olsson Associates in 2008 when his firm, Stevenson Land Surveying, was acquired by Olsson. Stevenson started his company in 2002 and provided a full range of surveying services throughout outstate Nebraska. He has 25 years of survey experience and has served as the county surveyor for Custer County since 2003.

Hurlbert

Hurlbert joined the firm in 1997, and has developed a strong background working with municipalities throughout central and western Nebraska. Hurlbert has been a design engineer, project manager, and resident construction observer for numerous municipal projects.
